Proletariat Poetry Factory

Proletariat Poetry Factory will be returning to Singapore Art Book Fair this year to once again to create poems on demand – under the pressure of time, and fairgoers' expectations, no less! Before their installation on 27th April, we decided to sit down with them to chat a little about their Art Book Fair experience.

Some zines that will be put up on the Wall of Womenan installation showcasing the best of zines by women makers from all over the world—at Singapore Art Book Fair 2017.

#1 Hunt down some very raw zines that tickle the eye and brain
#2 Fondle some exquisitely handmade objects
#3 Make new friends with unexpected books (& people)

What’s your secret to coming up with poems on the spot?

Proletariat Poetry Factory at last year's edition of Singapore Art Book Fair (2016).

We don’t have one. We just come prepared to surrender ourselves to the mind-aching oppressiveness of a relentless audio feed and poem orders being slapped non-stop on our desks. It’s like that hamster on the wheel. It’s being the mince that comes out of the Singa-grind.

Welcome back to Singapore Art Book Fair! We would like to know what’s the significance of the Art Book Fair to you?
It takes a lot of love to curate the region’s best pages, pictures, words and stick them all into one room. We are dead proud of the folks behind SABF for nourishing and elevating our collective art consciousness.
